The stories are not written the way they would be spoken. The author is constantly skipping back and forth for back story and losing the flow of the tale. It is very repetitive as if the author is looking to fill pages with the same words twice.

Interesting. I knew the author, from when I lived in Ketchikan in the 1950's. Just to add to my collection of Alaska Books about Alaska Natives.
This is a difficult to find book with a large amount of Haida history and information. Great reference for the collection.
