Basically, when I dipped my feet into the Kindle world, at long last, I bought an inexpensive gently used Kindle on Craigslist. Now, I needed a cover as mine does not have a backlit screen. I liked this design--it protects the device and uses the Kindle as the power source for the tiny LED light that swings out to the way and turns off when the cover is closed. It has a bronze/brass color to it, I wish there was something like leather or faux leather, but for the money ($19+) it was perfect. Unfortunately, it took some time to fit it just right so the electrical contacts made contact and the light would work. I thought it was faulty maybe a dead bulb. Anyway after several mounting attempts, cleaning the contacts and slightly bending them in the cover I got it to work. And you can swing the arm up so it's just in the center and the bulb is under the shade and doesn't blind you or your bed buddy. What a brilliant idea. It's lightweight too and besides the bronze look is just discrete enough to not scream look at me. Subtle. Black would be awesome. Wait... I could do some crafty thing and make it look like anything.
