The UZI Gum Metal Pen is everything that it advertises! It's an attractive and very functional pen, and I have received several compliments on it's style. The only drawback is that it does not have a built in feature to retract the tip of the pen. You have to basically unscrew the refill cap to hide the tip of the pen. Add that feature, and you'll have the perfect writing instrument!

I bought this and have been carrying it for about 3 or 4 weeks now. It's pretty much as described. I have some problems with using this for everyday carry, though. The pen is very heavy which makes it fit uncomfortably in most shirt pockets. I suppose being heavy is a good thing for an impact weapon but not so good for a pen you want to carry every day. I also find having to twist the barrel to open and close the pen inconvenient. I prefer a click pen. But that's a relatively small thing. I suppose this will break my auto glass but I expect I'd have to hit it pretty darn hard to do so. It's really too short to be much use as a weapon. In the end I have made this my car pen. I keep it on the dash where I like to have a pen ready to grab for whenever I need it. It's doubling as my auto glass breaker in that regard. And I expect if I were to leave the car anticipating I might need an impact weapon I would grab this thing for whatever small use it would be in that regard.Read full review

While it may break glass and unlock handcuffs, it is not a pen that anyone would want to write with on a regular basis. It is heavy, bulky, and very uncomfortable in the hand. Too heavy to carry in a shirt pocket. The rough outer surface would be too irritating even if it was not as heavy as it is.

This is one stout pen of great quality and a fantastic backup. Probably wouldn't want to use it to write lengthy reports, as it is a little heavy and the twist open ink cartridge would be a bit awkward if using it as a defense tool. Overall this is a must have for any Police Officer, prepper, or individual looking for a pen that stands out, great tool!
