As a serious fan of Band of Brothers and a World War II history buff, I found this book very informative as there was so much more to be told. The HBO series and the book form Stephen Ambrose told a great true story with some liberties, but Major Winter's book takes it a step further with more anecdotes surrounding the individuals that were a part of this heroic group of men. I just wish more of them were still around to tell their stories as well. I also recommend the books by Lynn "Buck" Compton, David Kenyon Webster, Donald Malarkey, Bill Guarnere & Babe Heffron and a great book about Winters written by Larry Alexander. There is also a great series of books surrounding the 101st Airbourne written by a member 506th A Comapany, Donald Burgett. He (Burgett) chronicles most of the major battles that involved the 101st.Read full review
As good as, maybe better than "Band of Brothers". Compelling and will have meaning for those who have served in any war.
