This 3D movie surprised me most of all. Going by the title, I thought it would be comical and stupid, but it isn't. The 3D version is superb. Shot with Alexa cameras and what had to be some of the finest lenses ever produced, the 3D is amazing. If you love really good 3D then this one is a no-brainer.

After young Abraham’s mother is killed by a vampire he swears revenge. His weapon of choice – a silver plated axe. What follows is a series of CGI battles, culminating in Gettysburg where vampires have aligned themselves with the Confederacy. Needless to say, a slightly improbable story from beginning to end. The movie was not shot in 3D, although it was apparently planned to be post production converted, and the conversion does work better than most converted movies. Great sense of depth, some extension beyond the screen, but not as good as a movie that had been shot with 3D cameras. The movie is much too violent and gory for young kids. Adults will find the plot and acting shallow, but teens will probably enjoy it. My rating – barely 2 stars for the movie itself, add one star for decent (but not great) 3D effects.Read full review

Okay, so let me say that I'm not a vampire movie fan. This is not a movie I would have normally picked to see, but a friend of mine's son worked on the film and his wife had an art piece used in the film, so I had to see it. Drag me... if you will. What a surprise. It was much more than a silly old vampire movie. It was like "Gone with the Wind" with fangs and I loved it. Moving, emotional, epic. Plausible story premise and lots of great scenes. I liked so many parts of it, they're too many to mention. Since I don't see vampire films in my regular movie choices, this was actually superb entertainment. The story works, the special effects work, and darn it, I liked it. Who'd a thunk it. Cheers, Max Rainet A movie lover for life.
The 3D quality on this blu ray looks stunning on my 65" Samsung 4k Ultra 240 refresh rate.. Most 3D movies are just slightly off for approx 5mins of viewing, however this one "Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter" looks picture perfect right from the start..

Movie tries to stick to history as much as possible and still be entertaining. Explaining during the civil war how many men were killed during the civil war; Vampires! Has likeable characters and villians. Its a stretch to say the Abraham Lincoln's son Wilie died from a vampires bite; but it worked in the movie. The only complaint I have was when the "head vampire" made this false statement that "I've seen Africans sale thier own people". That is incorrect. To a white slave owner, all African's look alike. Nevermind about which tribe various Africans came from.
