Let's get down to brass tacks. There will be a copy of this same review for every season since I bought the complete 8 season set. (I also just just bought SG Atlantis Season 1.) ALL the seasons, transfers, and everything connected with this series are strictly FIRST RATE! DVD picture is far better than the average TV broadcast. In most cases you may find that the sound is noticeably better than you've heard it on TV also. This is simply one of the FINEST SERIES EVER! Pure FUN. Pure ENTERTAINMENT! Own it... Trust me! (I've never lied to you, have I?)
First of all, Daniel Jackson is replaced by Jonas Quinn in this season. Throughout the course of season 6 one will want to pay attention to every minute detail as much of the story now revolves around politics and other conspiracy issues on Earth. All of this feels a bit like the X-Files to me. There are also MANY cameos. Some of these include more insight into the replicators and also appearances from a lot more enemies and shady characters from planet Earth. I don't want to give away any spoilers so my best advice is......watch it! : )
Season 6 has to be one of the best Stargate SG-1 series ever. By the start of "6" all the characters have become fully developed and their interaction works. The writing has gotten more intelligent (not that it was bad before) and I really enjoy the increasing complexity of the scripts. With the addition of some new characters, this is certainly worth checking out.
Great series although a little dated. (The episode 2010 was a great episode about the future 10 years from "now" - 2000 but is history now). Missed Michael Shanks - Jonas Quinn's only season was good but I missed Daniel Jackson. Daniel Shanks's guest appearances were excellent while exploring the "Ancients" history and culture was lots of fun.
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: Pre-owned
If you've seen all the episodes and movies this will test your memory in a truly surprising way. Get all ten seasons and the movies. Watch the first movie (Directors Cut, Way better)then Stargate SG-1: Children of the Gods (movie) then the first and last episodes of each season, then the movies in order of release. You'll be amazed at how much miniscule details you remember as you speed jump through the seasons. I knew I knew alot about SG1 but I had no idea how much.
