Mr. Bruce Brooks Pfeiffer, Director of FLlW Archives at Taliesin gave just information on seventy seven of Wright's uncompleted projects to really get feel for this great architect's futuristic thinking. As far back as the 1890's through the late 1950's had these projects been completed, as Mr. Wright had intended, there is no question the face of American Architecture would have changed forever and for the better. I was astonished to realize through Pfeiffer's excellent book that Frank Lloyd Wright proposed a cable stayed bridge as far back as 1947 for the Pittsburgh Cic Center. What an amazing piece of architecture! That type of bridge was almost unheard of at that time. Cable stayed bridges are now all the rage in Europe, the Americas and even in China for their economy, strength and beauty. Wright, the father of indirect lighting, use of plywood and the cantilevered floors and balconies was decades ahead of any other architect. No question Wright designed for the future and Pfeiffer's book reaffirms it. This book offers great insight in words and pictures of some of Frank Lloyd Wright's greatest works that, sadly, never got built. A great visual feast, for any student of architecture and the arts.Read full review
