Every fan of Elvis remembers where they were when they heard the devastating news that he had died, so young, and years and years too soon. I was still a teenager and the images from the tv are still burned in my mind. That was August 1977. Here it is, 2015 and there's a brand new, posthumous album that is so fresh and so alive, it's as if Elvis stood with the orchestra himself and sang the words as the orchestra played along. It's absolutely worth having in your collection. Personally, I wasn't expecting anything really special and was very skeptical about all the hype I'd been reading. But, after ordering it and popping it into the CD player, I was genuinely moved. I saw an interview of Priscilla before I bought the CD and, to paraphrase, she was said, "This is the album Elvis always wanted to record. He would be so proud." I can't presume to speak for Elvis Presley, but I think Priscilla might be right. This CD is an exceptional piece of work to hear the Philharmonic Orchestra live, back-up Elvis Presley long after his passing. This cd is nothing like I have ever heard before. The orchestra makes all of Elvis' songs sound so different...almost like big band. The collaboration makes every song sound new. It is a great CD I would definitely recommend this to any Elvis fan. The only thing that would make this better would be if it was on vinyl!
