I listen to the CD's in my car coming from and going to work. There very easy to listen to and learn from. I'm on the last CD in the Spanish 1 set and I'm almost ready to buy the entire Spanish 2 set which will be soon. It takes me maybe a week or two to learn the entire CD before moving to the next CD. They recommend learning at least 80% before moving to the next CD but I'm a little anal if you will and like to be around 95-100% which again is just me before moving on. I'm also completely confident that I have learned a great amount of Spanish already in the Spanish 1 set and I know I will continue to enjoy learning more from the rest of the set's as I master them and the Spanish language. I would absolutely recommend the Pimsleur Spanish to anyone who is considering learning Spanish. Excellent way to learn. Just pop in a CD in your car or where ever and start learning!Read full review
I previously did the Pimsleur Portuguese and found it very easy to follow and was most helpful during my stay in Brazil. I got a lot more out of the trip having a basis on which to communicate. Now I am learning Spanish and it is exavtly the same formula so now I will know how to find The Colombus Hotel in 2 languages! Very easy to learn and I really enjoy the length of the lessons so that I can make good use of my time driving to and from work. I highly recommend this series for the audible learner.
I've been using these language CDs since they arrived. I am very happy with them so far but I'm only on lesson 6. I knew when I bought these the written manuel was not included with these used CDs. I am making such good progress with them that I would love to have a manual so I can also learn to read and see the words and phrases.

At the age of 55 I knew learning a new language would be difficult but a friend recommended Pimsleur's and so i gave it a try. I absolutely love the Pimsleur method. It is easy, it is fun and Mr. Pimsleur has developed a method of learning that works along with how our brains process information so that we are better able to grasp and remember what we have learned. I am amazed at how much I am able to remember and retain in a very short time from this method. In fact, I was so impressed with this program that I have since bought additional sets for my friends. I highly recommend the Pimsleur programs.
Audio-only language studies are very difficult, as varying means and methods of speaking can arise from the same speaker from lesson to lesson. However, learning a new alphabet poses no problem for anyone willing to learn a new language. In order to clearly perceive various nuances unique to each language, a transcript of each lesson should be made available to the student, written in the language being studied. Pimsleur boasts that no written material need accompany the tongue being studied, but that is a ridiculous assumption and declaration. Students are forced to try and locate dictionaries and phrase books, so that they can generate and study word and phrase lists during the day. Some language packs do include word lists, but these lists, numbered by lesson, do not reflect the lesson material. They are just random words, printed in small booklets. That is, those word lists contain words, but not those being used in the lessons. I have tried several different Pimsleur language kits, and have found them lacking, solely due to the absence of any useful written word and phrase lists. What a shame, that such an expensive package lacks the basic necessities that would make learning a pleasure, rather than a chore. For the above noted reason, I must give only three stars to this otherwise well-thought-out enterprise.Read full review
