This is a vintage collection of three VHS tapes housed in a brightly decorated, glossy red box. (The box needs to be a fraction bigger to be useful; tapes are hard to remove.) These tapes are good quality. The choice of classic animation is unbeatable: Tom and Jerry are up to their usual escapades (The Night Before Christmas, 1941) with Tom giving in and making up with Jerry; The Captain's Christmas, 1938, featuring the Katzenjammer kids and an old sailor who shanghais Santa and almost ruins their Christmas; then a hilarious Tex Avery cartoon with his usual zany action (a wolf disguised as Santa meets Junior Pig) in One Ham's Family, 1938; and a great musical tribute to Kate Smith, Bing Crosby, and others in Toyland Broadcast, 1935. MGM Cartoon classics contains four greats: Hugh Harman's beautiful 1939 Oscar-nominated "Peace on Earth" which shows the insanity of war so plainly that a child can understand; "Alias St. Nick" is a funny story of cynical little mouse who doesn't believe in Santa Claus and a hungry cat gaining entrance to the mouses' home by dressing as Santa. Tex Avery is at his best in "The Peachy Cobbler", a funny and touching take on the Shoemaker and the Elves story; "The Pup's Christmas" is cozy, charming and homey with two puppies taking on a host of Christmas toys that come alive. The artwork is among the best in all of these films, detailed and colorful, and the wit is unsurpassed. The last tape: "How the Grinch Stole Christmas!" is a classic. This is a good-quality tape, but the color is not as rich or as dark as my other copy of this film. In one brief spot in the film, the color is vibrant, then it is faded again. I don't believe that a child would notice the difference; I am a collector of old animation and an artist. It is the only flaw I found in a great collection. I highly recommend this collection for the choices of films and the exceptional talent of the animators. These films are also valuable for their historical contribution to great animation.Read full review

I bought it for my grandkids and they absolultely love it, they are Tom and Jerry fans. The VHS is in great condition and it will get a lot of viewing because as soon as the grandkids get home they want to watch Tom and Jerry.
I expected Tom & Jerry cartoons, not an assortment of unknowns with only 1 actual Tom & Jerry episode.
