Greetings from Montreal, I'm a passionate scuba diver. From my early chilhood, I've been attracted to the sea, mostly underwater. I've made diving my career for most of my life and I've travelled all over the world, for work and pleasure, to explore the remote parts of our oceans. if you are anything remotely like me, that is, a person who really loves and is drawn by ocean, you should own this book... The ENCYCLOPEDIA OF THE SEA by Richard Ellis (HD-2000). It is the best reference book on anything that comes close to the sea. Stuff that I thought I knew have been clarified. And I've learned more form this book, from simply flicking the pages randomly and pick-up something on the fly, that I care to mention. There is a whole lot of magic in our seas, above and below, and this is a perfect companion to have on hand to guide you through and answer your questions. So, this is certainly a book to own... Sailors, divers, ocean lover and even landlubbers will benefit from this book. And if you know someone who's like me, passionate about the sea, give him a copy of this book, for his or her birthday, or simply because you'll make them a gift they will enjoy, use and cherish for ever. I'm planning to get a couple more used copies on eBay, always at a good price, cause that's excatly what I plan to do... Gifts to a few good friends who are like me, SEA LOVERS ;-) Good reading, Gino 'IO' Salotti Montreal, April 2, 2011Read full review
