If you are a fan of the greats like Star Trek, Stargate SG-1, Farscape, and BSG, you will be a fan of Defiance. This series has great character development as well as great acting. The sets and production are beautiful, and the stories are well crafted. Fans of mature and "smart sci-fi" can rejoice for there is no ''cheesy-ness'' here. A very well done show that got cancelled after only three seasons (should have went at least five) because of a bad decision at Syfy network. The same thing that happened to Firefly. Defiance delivers.A++
