The overall Honor Harrington Series is one of the best I've ever read. The excellent rating I gave War of Honor has to do specifically with the series in its entirety. However, I wasn't as pleased with War of Honor. Weber brought in way too much political drama that wasn't up to his best, in my honest opinion. As I struggled along chapter by chapter waiting for the next kick-butt naval action to unfold, I became more and more disappointed and frustrated. I even set the book down for nearly a week before "making" myself put in the effort to finish it. I honestly wonder whether or not Weber felt any trepidation when he boxed up his script to send it along to his publisher. Surely he must have realized War of Honor was a major shift in theme from his prior books in the series. Needless to say, I did appreciate the attached CD with all of the prior books in the series. I wish other authors thought as much of their readers as this guy does. David Weber is greatly appreciated by this guy. I wish him many fruitful (prolific) years of life to share more of that great imagination of his.Read full review
