Re adult collecting, IMO this, like all the Lego Hobbit sets, is attractive, clever, engaging to build, and terrific film memorabilia. Standouts IMO are the too cute and well-designed Oin and Gloin figures, as well as the rather unique elf who has obviously had a good time in Thranduil's cellars! It's an attractive and charming set, but knocked off a star as an adult collector, IMO this set was crying for some sort of base plate to sort of tie all the little details together - basically you have built little components of the scene that just sort of sit there. And I felt this set was screaming for MORE - more barrels, a whole wine rack, and so forth. So of course solve the problem by getting 2 sets. I just thought that LEGO could have done a bit more - that said, IMO loaded with charm and easy to "upgrade" re the details and more figs, as desired.
