The final installment of the "Man With No Name" Clint Eastwood Spaghetti Western Trilogy may be the a perfect way to wrap up the story, but actually leaves even more questions for the viewer. This time Eastwood's character teams with Lee Van Cleff, a deadly gringo himself, to track down the villian from the first film, who shockingly died in that one but comes back with another name. This wacky killer/rapist also has a sum of money Eastwood's character wants. The Van Cleff character is looking for payback of a different kind. As seen in haunting flashbacks, Van Cleff's sister is raped and murdered by the villian on her honeymoon night. The only remnant left is a musical watch that Van Cleff plays hypnotically over and over, till the dramatic climax. Well acted, crafty musical score, and psychotic drama. A thing of beauty in 1967. Available in standard remasted edition and 2 dvd special edition with "The Making Of" documentary bonus.Read full review
Clint Eastwood returns as the iconic 'man with no name' in this gritty follow up to the classic A Fistful of Dollars. Eastwood joins forces with a rival bounty hunter (Lee Van Cleef) to capture or kill the crazed outlaw Indio (Gian Maria Volonte). Strict motive drives on Van Cleef from his early years, while Eastwood plays the bounty hunter that is strictly in the chase for money. The plots includes very good subplots with tense close - ups, panoramic landscapes and Eastwoods and Van Cleefs (in the late 60s) poetic violence and a fantastic Ennio Morricone musical score that contributed to all of the Eastwood and director Sergio Leone spaghetti Western movies. If you enjoyed spaghetti western (The Good, Bad and the Ugley, Fistful of Dollars, etc) then you will also enjoy this one. A necessary buy for Classic western or Clint Eastwood collectors, and they especially will enjoy a great nights entertainment with this one.Read full review
This movie was filmed in 1965, & the DVD was released in 1998. Such an old movie being made into a DVD, i have to say that this DVD movie is in excellent condition both in video & audio. The movie itself is already a legend, one of Clint Eastwood's western legendary movies. Me liking this movie so much has a lot to do with the famous pocket watch theme for the Final Dual. And this movie is not just gun fights only, there is a story line. Such as the story behind the pocket watch, the reason why Lee Van Cleef is after Indio the bandit is more for vengeance for his sister than money which is quite touching, the not-so-trusting partnership between Lee & Clint at first & eventually the teaming up of both at the Final Duel when Clint figures out the story of the pocket watch. The plot is full of surprises, intelligence & occasional humor. This is one true classic Western Legendary movie one should not miss. And i bought the sound-track CD from ebay which is on the way. i can't wait to hear it.Read full review
This film is the 2nd part of Sergio Leone's trilogy. What can I say that hasn't been said before ? The definitive spaghetti Westerns, Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef. These movies were made in the mid 1960's, timeless, I grew up watching them on Saturday matinee television as the movie of the week. TV was black & white tube. Later I watched them rebroadcasted on a color tv. Here it is 2009 and I have the option of watching on lcd tv or computer. With the trilogy, I have a Sergio Leone/Clint Eastwood marathon for that rainy day weekend. Refreshing to watch films that don't rely on cgi scenes and special effects to entertain at such a high quality. Soundtrack by Ennio Morricone, what else can be said ? Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino seek Morricone's scores. "Inglorious Basterds" (2009) is a spaghetti western/macaroni combat style movie in attempt to capture the old movies from the prior century. Again Leone is the real deal, the original article the foremost expert and pioneer !Read full review
I love any and all of the Clint Eastwood westerns but I don't why. Well yes I do Mr. Eastwood is a very good actor, director and I believe he's a producer now. The type of westerns/movies in general, makes him a man of great talent and greate importance. We won't find many of his caliber everyday so I hope he can be around to work his magic in front of the camera as well as he does behind it. So, keep up the good work Mr. Eastwood, God Speed! My other reason I am using eBay is because of the great price and value of the product. I wish I had been shopping here all the time. Thanks 10travel4fun
