Eight years ago at age 68, I was diagnosed with coronary heart disease with more than 80% blockage in the anterior descending artery. On the morning of the scheduled by-pass surgery, I had a gut feeling NOT to go through with it, not because of fear of the surgery but for listening to the promptings I felt. Dr. Esselstyn has been doing research for many many years and if you follow his instructions and eat just as he says you can lower your cholesterol and triglycerides with in 6 weeks, I lowered my triglycerides from 405 to 173, something my doctors said would never happen - I did it in four weeks and my doctors were amazed and I did it without statins - I will never again change the way I eat and I am trying right now to see if I can reverse the blockage in one of my arteries and I am sure it will.

I read this book a couple years ago, then lent it out. It never came back. My brother-in-law recently had his 3rd heart surgery and has a return of severe chest pain withing a couple of weeks.
