The only thing keeping this game from getting an excellent rating is its apart lagging and technical issues. This can very well be associated with my machine. My PC specs: 8gb DDR2-1066 3.0ghz core2duo 2 HD3870's Crossfired 750gb sata drive liquid cooled to 55 degrees Fahrenheit So with all that I still have a lot of lag spots in the game that are non loading points and now the real issue, I kept getting messed up graphics, it would be almost too dark to see one respond and the next too bright to see. After this happens it would tend to fix itself until this cycle happens a few times and then it would crash, so about an hour of play and about 45 min of real playing time before the game would randomly crash. Otherwise the game looks great and has nice features that could distinguish itself as an excellent game had all these issues not been regular hassles. This may just be my hardware and not the game. which is why i included it so you can judge for yourself if you think it is lacking in system power or the game itself is at fault.Read full review
the game takes place in area 51 after an alien virus spread in the huge underground facility. the soldier that you are controling is a hasmat soldier goes in the base to clean the area but find himself alone and becomes a mutant that can phase shift from human with human weapons to an alien with alien vision and wapons. great game with a little more space to move around than Quake 4. wapons have realistic recoil. and the sniper rifle zoom slightly moves with the character's breath. Nice details in the weird space ships designs, and a good challenge on medeum difficulty. i have not beaten this game yet but so far it has been a thrill. Installation was so easy no code required, all you have to do is put each cd in when it asks you to, when you are done, put disc 1 in and start palying it is that easy.Read full review
Blacksite:Area 51 is an exciting game to play. The suspense raises your adrenalin as you play the game. I like the game's mixture of being part military and science fiction. I am a fan of first person shooters, so this is a good one. The game works well with my Vista system. The game installed quickly.HD on my system makes the game very clear on my system. There are three levels to play(easy, hard, very hard). The hard and very hard levels are not easy to play. I recommend this game. I believe you won't be disappoint.
Graphics quality not up to date. Performance is ok. game play shake too much when firing but, I must also say that the motion movement or turning are better than what I've seen. When moving with the mouse the graphic move a bit slow but it doesn't shake when the mouse lose it's steadyness. This is one of the poor design of all game. It doesn't make blur motion like in real life.
ok first the pros 1.the game is fun with out question 2.its a great run through 3.the multi player is fun when people are actually on 4.David duchovny does the voice work for the main character which is a nice addition and makes you feel like your playing a good x-files game for once 5.game looks great when on an hd monitor the cons 1.Marlyn Manson voice work sucks 2.it tries to be dark and creepy but its not 3.not much weapon selection so as you can see the pros out do the cons so check it out
