As with most Osprey books, this one provides a simple but solid overview of the army, detailing its various branches and describing the uniforms, which most Ospreys specialize in. The color plates are very well done. Pretty bare bones but recommended for someone interested in the uniforms of the Red Army. There is also a good selection of photos. 47 pages total; candy reading for the historian or WWII researcher. Also recommended to flesh out a book on the Eastern Front by giving a pictorial representation of what the fighting men looked like on the Russian side.
It's a good quick overview of material for the War-gamer or Historian. Enough color examples to paint from. A few interesting sidelights to help spice up your basing.
great book for anyone interested in ww11 russian uniforms, weapons, etc. recomened must for al ww11 russian reenactors ,and collectors
