I'm a fan of James Lee Burke books. So I wasn't real happy when they went off book and changed a few things. But I guess it was alright. I do have to admit that Tommy Lee Jones was a much better Dave Robicheaux than others I had seen in a Burke book made movie. All in all it was a pretty good movie and worth the money.

Good story, but the " sound quality" is terrible. Needed to read lips most of time. Threw the DVD away after suffering thru this movie. Actors good, story good but strained thru the whole movie to hear any dialogue.

It’s a good movie but I have to watch it several times to figure out if the lead character is dreaming or if the booze is making him delusional!! Intriguing!

Enjoyed the movie. Well done. Tommy Lee Jones makes a great Dave Robicheaux. The scenery was beautiful. Some great photos of New Iberia and St. Martinville as well as the Bayou Teche. They did a great job of taking a pre-Katrina book and making it into a post-Katrina movie. The start was a little choppy but so are the books due to the need for character development. After that the movie took off and held my attention. The topless girl scene was not needed but it was no big deal. The characters appeared somewhat small when compared to the setting. Fairly good Louisiana Cajun movie...
I enjoy Tommy Lee Jones in anything he takes part in. Very enjoyable movie.
