I purchased this book for my special topics in psychology class (positive psychology). This book is excellent both for anyone interested in helping others reach not just the absence of mental illness but the obtainment of mental health, and for anyone who wants to improve their life to the point of flourishing. The books seven key factors do have a basis in Aaron T. Beck's ideas on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (the most popular therapy used today). The idea is to change one's irrational and negative thinking to more rational thoughts. Since our emotions are based off our thoughts and our thoughts can be changed from negative to positive or become more logical, one can become more happy. Truly this book is helpful to me and I would recommend it to anyone who seeks giving or receiving self improvement and improved mood. While I am certain other products may also achieve the same thing, I must say that each time I have read from this book I have experienced a lift in my mood even if I was feeling down that day.
