A badly written book by Britney and her mom
I really thought that this book would have been better. There's nothing original about this book. The story line was very simple. It was about a fourteen year old girl from a small town who was encouraged by her town people to attend a high class college not too far from where she lived. The college was the top in the area in terms of music. She met her roommate Ditz who came from a wealthy family but didn't have the love and support of her parents. She was always drinking and partying and like hanging out with boys. Holly (the main character) was always close to her mom but was starting to feel embarassed by her birthmark on her face. Turns out that her mom wasn't her birth mother and that the lady had rescued her from a burning house and Holly's birth parents died in the fire. The birthmark was actually a burn mark. Every one knew that she was adopted in the town, but no one said anything to her until then. The book ended with her making it onto the tv show and being the best Sophmore at the college. This book was badly written. There were a lot of grammatical errors in it. I would of thought that seeing there were several editors who worked on the book as well, would have corrected those errors. I really thought there was going to be more originality in there, but there wasn't. Chapters are somehwat extended, but the fonts are very big and you can read through the book in a day.Read full review

I thought it was a very sweet,loving story about a mother and her daughter. Not a great book, but good enough for me to keep reading. =) That's all - im a person of few words ;-D

I bought Britney Spears' "A mother's gift" and I'm absolutely happy I did it. I love my book, it is perfecly new and it does not have any damages even if it was not expensive at all. I can't wait to read it!
