A chapter in history that was unpleasant, and a young woman who stood up for right, who was shoved aside and the story covered up-- but who actually filed the first federal civil rights lawsuit in 1937, who had newspaper front pages, and who watched betrayal, cover up, and who suffered pain for the rest of her life for speaking up and saying rape was not allowable, that what happened was wrong. Kind of overwhelming, this is a story that needs to be known, that is clearly laid out, and that shows both how and why we need to stand up, too, even if it seems there is no hope. It is not what you expect, it is more, and it is just solid, real, ringing truth that needs to be better known.
This is a true story and well done. It was a big story in the 1930s and just faded away. Documentaries can be a little slow. This one kept a good strong pace.
