This is the first book after Alex Cross joins the FBI, which gives his readers new insight into his impatience with the law enforcement system. Also, the book introduces the "Wolf", probably the most ruthless criminal he's ever encountered. There's also a "side story" included as well, i.e. Christine comes back into his life, although not the way he imagined. This may be one of those books you can't put down. I read it in one weekend. Patterson is quickly becoming one of my top 3 authors. I like his short chapters, quick pace and tremendous depth of all of his characters. You will not be disappointed in this book, I highly recommend it.
It is obvious that James Patterson puts a lot of research into all of his writings. He knows how to manipulate a plot so intricately that the reader is sometimes thrown completely off base as to who is the real culprit. "The Big Bad Wolf" lives up to Patterson's sterling reputation as one of the best! Alex Cross has joined the FBI and is hot on the trail of a White Slave dealer, called The Wolf, whose customers murder their "slaves" when they get tired of them. They are taking people right off the streets in broad daylight. They are very particular who they take, in fact the customers choose the very person they want, for an exorbant price. One was even the beautiful wife of a Senator. Alex has made a jealous enemy in the FBI hierarchy. Will he be able to stop this ring of criminals, in spite of someone in the FBI putting obsticals in his way? I have thirteen of James Patterson's books and Alex Cross is his best character. I can almost hear Morgan Freeman reading it to me, as he is the actor who played the Cross character in the movies based on Patterson's books.Read full review
Great book condition and value. I bought as part of Alex Cross Series that I am currently reading. I’m currently on book 6, Roses are Red, so I have read this book yet. Love this series.
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: Pre-owned
This is part of the Cross Series. (I didn't know there was a Cross Series until I read this book, Ooopppsy I read some out of order but that's okay. James Patterson writes all his books so if you are just picking it up for the first time you don't feel like you are lost. Very cool!) I really like it. I should have written about it after I read the book but it was very good and it kept me reading and reading and reading. I read alot of it and had a hard time putting it down.
The Big Bad Wolf is another really good book, although a little hokey at times, but a welcome edition to the Alex Cross series with typical Patterson drama, plot twists and edge of your seat suspense. This one has major plot twists! The Alex Cross novels are one of Pattersons most popular fictional series, made famous on the big screen in Kiss the Girls and Along Came a Spider both starring Morgan Freeman. Took me a day and a half to read. I couldn't put it down.
