BACK OF BOOK SAYS: THERE is something about almost dying that makes a girl rethink her priorities. take nicki styx she was strictly goth and vintage, until a brush with the afterlife leaves her with the ability to see dead people. before you can say boo, atlanta's ghosts are knocking at nicki's door. now her days consist of reluctantly cleaning up messes left by the dearly departed, leading ghouls to the light and one on one anatomy lessons with dr. joe bascombe the dreamy surgeon who saved her life. all this catering to the deceased is a real drag especially for a girl who rather be playing hanky panky with her hunky new boyfriend who beginning to think she is totally nuts. ok, it's a cute book, i enjoyed it, although the end kind of dragged on, but the twins and the same boyfriend reminded me of general hospital. it was kind of icky. i kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, like kelly being dead or something, but you must wait until book 2 to find those answers.Read full review
I love paranormal books and this one didn't disappoint me! I love the fact that she used voodoo as a major part of this book. I'm not familiar with voodoo and it was refreshing to be introduced to a new subject matter. A must read and I can't wait for the next one to come out! I love Dr. Joe and hope to see much more of him in her future books.
This book is much better than I expected. I started it and quickly became enthralled with Nicki Styx and her unsettling paranormal experiences. Dr. Joe is a hunky man that has her blushing from the start. You root for them all the way. He offers her help but has profound truths to bear. Great opener! I can't wait to start the next book. Terri Garrey has me hooked.
This is a fun book...kind of like the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich but of the dead world...
