While this is not a book to be read cover to cover, it does outline different techniques for assessing one's class for a day, a week, or how often one must do this. Assessment is not always a pleasant topic, but this book gives a number of techniques that can be utilized in many different topic areas, from English to History to Science to Math. All can benefit from this book. I have found it to be invaluable. As an adjunct faculty member, I cannot always make the daytime assessment workshops, but with this book, I can understand what is being asked of me regarding assessment.
This book gave lots of good ideas that were very useful when I was an adjunct instructor. It was recommended by faculty who had advanced training in instruction, but it's s very practical book, applicable to any field being taught. There's lots to learn here.
