A textbook for my Natural Resource Conservation class. Good though if you want a summary of all the major ecological challenges facing those who would like to see progress in these major. The book begins with the most fundamental: understanding ecology, and why this is sometimes different from environmentalism. Then the authors discuss all the important issues: overpopulation, global warming, the evolution pseudo-controversy and others. Good if you want a reference source for all the environmental facts you've probably heard in a number of different publications.
One thing I really like about this book is that it explains things in pretty good detail. It was worth the wait to get it with all the money saved on it. Only one thing I dislike about it is how the authors present theories as facts. I decided to buy this book because I needed it for a NR class and was able to find it over %50 cheaper on eBay.
This is not the most recent edition of the book, however, it worked perfectly with my Forestry class at UGA. almost identical to the most recent edition, and I saved almost $100 buying this edition instead. well worth it.
