Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Save on Vintage Tubes & Tube Sockets
I'm a retired engineer and have had this 1939 vintage Westinghouse radio since the early 70's and it has been missing tubes as long as I can remember.. It belonged to my grandparents and has been handed down through the generations and always intrigued me. After refinishing and having it look like new I located a schematic and decided to see if tubes were available. Imagine my surprise when I located a set of new old stock tubes that, quite frankly, probably cost less than when they were readily available. A further surprise was the old radio came to life when the tubes were installed, and that was really unexpected, no troubleshooting required. This project started out as nothing more than a neat conversation piece but is something more now that is functional.
