I’ve only used it once, so far. It was a little finicky getting going, which the instructions imply would be the case. To help facilitate lighting, I nuked some white rice in a cloth bag and set the fueled unit in that for a couple minutes. (See photo). This must have helped vaporize the fuel, because it started to heat with the next lighting attempt. I used Ronsonol fluid. Might go easier with the Zippo Premium.

Let me preference this review by saying that I have not used these hand warmers yet. But just handling them out of the box I’m not very impressed. They are barely bigger than the old Zippo lighters we all use to carry in our pockets. Also, compared to the old Jon-e hand warmers they are about 1/4 the size. I can’t wait to see how well they work!

This works as well as old 12 hrs warmers, but fits better in glove, pocket etc. Had a flat heat release curve, with spike towards end of fuel. Easy to fill, compared to old design. Flatter burner head may last longer than older domes.

I love it, I work outside for hour or so at a time, have fingers missing and one that got sewn back on, have to keep reasonable warm, so got the 6 hour hand warmer, works great

we had these when i was a kid, now i'm old and back in new england, so i really need them now lol. they seem to be much safer now, and not burn you like they used to. i have one in my emergency pack, and a couple i use all the time. when the temp hits 20 below, there is nothing as nice as a warm spot in your jacket, or pocket to make it tolerable :)
