It appears that American Tomahawk has listened to the complaints of their customers. The glossy black painted head that most customers stripped and refinished is now blued, and the head is snug on the hickory handle. It is well balanced, a good medium weight and good for throwing. Not ultra light like some of the cheaper hawks but light enough to carry on the trail, and heavy enough to use. A great hawk for the price.

Poor fitting handle to say the least and should not require a set screw to secure head to handle. Tomahawk head is rough quality and head is too heavy to be a good throwing tomahawk. This would serve well as a camp hatchet and hammer and look good tucked into a buck skinner's belt but not a throwing hawk.

Excellent price for the Tomahawk, I've bought them before, stripped off the black paint and shellac on the handle and then these are great for mods. You can make it look any way you like, paint, stain, wood burning, file the head: whatever you like. Great raw material for a personalized camp tool that is great for splitting, chopping fire wood, throwing, camp chores, playing around with, and I demoed a deck with mine. Great to chop out the old wood and you can really dig in and pry out boards with the thin, tough blade and the beard is great for pulling off boards with. I give thess a "10" and recommend them to anyone. Even modified one with the kids and they love them too. Great tool, great gift.

A cold steel product without the cold steel price being the good quality budget tomahawk cold steel makes it to be without the higher price cold steel charges. Arrived before it was expected so that's a plus
