I really enjoyed this film. Actually, I usually enjoy all Civil War stories, but these all have unusual twist that make them quite interesting. The last story especially-- it had me on the edge of my seat and then.... well I won't ruin it for you! This film is worth the time it takes to watch it.
Being a Civil War enthusiast, I very much appreciate the stories of Ambrose Bierce. There was a famous meeting between Ambrose, William Randolph Hearst and Ina Coolbrith in the lobby of a San Francisco hotel. It was in that lobby that Ambrose read his Civil War Stories to Ina and Hearst. The film is about this meeting and as Ambrose reads each story, the film depicts the action in short vignettes. It was very well done and historically accurate.
