Stanley Coren's book is intended to explain the language of our dogs. While they don't speak, per say, they definitely communicate through their body language. Coren's book will help readers understand a lot of the actions of their dogs that heretofore the reader might have just considered idiosyncrasies. Some of the things Coren explains you may have realized intuitively; some of his tips may shed a whole new light on your dog's actions. The book is somewhat dry in some of the sections when Coren delves too much into behaviorialism or animal history but, overall, it's a very good, informative book.
