The DVD True Story Of Troy is a nice documentary about the history of Troy. However, I feel that the script (sequence of matters in the narrative) could be better. Obviously, it is rich in takes of the Archaeological places in Turkey and for many other aspects. But the theatrical reconstitutions are rather poor and some images also. It is also very didactic if a teacher wants to show to students a living report of a vibrant and intriguing work of Archaeology. The problem seems to be of DIRECTION and I recommend it - with some restrictions for the overhall view. Although, the images of the archeological sites and fieldwork are worth seeing at all.
Not only was the movie based on poor conjecture, it reminded me of those TV shows where they're opening a tomb or something - they talk for a really long time about little pieces of evidence that they've discovered, the known history, and how they're going to blow the lid off of that known history, only to open an empty tomb. This movie is pretty boring from an evidential standpoint, and it's filled with lots of skin and sexual references, ad nauseum. Just not worth it, and I'm going to sell it off with another worthless History Channel movie.
Very fascinating. It vividly connects many of the myths with modern day parallels. definitely worth watching multiple times.
Not quite what I expected, but was worth watching a second time. Useful in disarming the myth behind the battle.
Awesome
