I ordered this copy as a replacement for one I had several years ago. This book has everything you’ll ever need to know about the history of bodybuilding, the body, and specific workouts. Full of pictures and graphics too. It’s a must-have for anyone interested in the subject.

I'm not the most articulate critic on the planet, so I'll keep it short. This book is the bible of bodybuilding. You need this book if you're so skinny that you have never lifted a weight in your life, if you're so yolked that you're competing in Mr. Olympia next week or if you're anywhere in between. It has sections for diet, nutrition, uses and effects of vitamins and minerals. Workout routines set by days of the week, for every level, from beginner to professional. Routines and advice for every age group, different gear you could need. Most importantly, it has techniques for every exercise you could do in the gym broken down by muscle group. I was amazed to learn how many lifts I was doing improperly. This really does have everything you could ever need. There are a lot of bodybuilding books out there and this one wasn't written by a specialist or a college student, it was written by a guy that has won seven Mr. Olympia and three Mr. Universe titles. I bought it expecting 100 pages or less, but it's 800 pages. So, if nothing else, you could sit at home and lift the book.Read full review
A classic. One of the best old school bodybuilding books still on the market. Its packed full of good info on how the old pros trained and ate. Definitely worth the buy.

Great book to help people get into better shape and find plans on what to work out on days ranging from 3 days for a full body work out to 1 day. It also has very good diet plans and suggestions on what to eat so that you can build muscle and lose fat while still eatting right. Overall I am very happy with this buy and I use some of the more advanced work outs but this is great for beginners as well.
This book is full of buff, greasy men in man-kinis. It's wonderful. Just kidding, I'm straight. Seriously though, this book opened my eyes to the world of bodybuilding. While, I'm not ever planning on going into bodybuilding, just from taking a flip through it at the library, I could see that this book would be a good read. Plus, I got a few laughs from the "psychological warfare" section. The diet and workout guide is pretty intense, too intense for the average person to follow. So, the program in the book is only for those who are really dedicating themselves to being a full-time bodybuilder. However but the principles are applicable for the normal Joe. All in all, this book gets a gold star.
