I bought this book at the recommendation of a trusted friend, who proclaimed it the most eye-opening thing he had ever read. Since he is a well-travelled and highly-informed NY-Berkeley Intellectual, that was supreme praise. I did find this a fascinating read but, alas, already aware of the possiblities of subtle corruptions of supposedly free-thinking minds by charming propaganda, I was not as awed by these documented examples of same from WWI. Very worth checking into, since it is unimpeachably-researched and concisely-written: especially recommended for doubters.
