Great historical romances with some paranormal aspects. Burning Lamp and Perfect Poison are part of the Arcane Society series which deals with people with psychic powers dealing with regular society. Lie by Moonlight deals with a teacher who is asked to teach 4 young women in mysterious circumstances and what she decides to do about it. There are a lot of comments about real teachers loving their students and supporting them above all else. I really like that. The Paid Companion is about a man whose fiancee has run off to Gretna Green to avoid marrying him. He claims that the next time he is in need of a fiancee he will go to a company that provides paid companions. Which is what he does when he needs a fake fiancee to help him research a mystery. All Amanda Quick books have a mystery, some really good one-liners and are a fun read.Read full review

The book has a great author. The story is very interesting and creative. The thought and work put into this story is evidently excellent.
Amanda Quick, Jane Ann Krentz....who ever she calls herself when she writes, she is prolific and transports you in her writing and makes you feel like you were there. She writes with the reader in mind and makes her charcters real people.
This series was boring, there wasn't anything in the story hat caught my interest, made me want to keep reading, boring flat characters I just didn't care about, predictable ending.
