BEST IRONS EVER!!! I have been playing Cleveland irons for the last 12-15 years from the TA 3, to TA 7, and finally to the CG 4 Tour. I had been playing with the CG 4 Tour irons for about the last 5 years, and was not really looking to buy new irons, but if I saw something I could afford and that I hit as well as my Cleveland irons, I would go ahead and buy some, even though my handicap had fallen from a 13-7 over those 5 years. I was at my local golf shop just checking out some clothes, and just happend to go back to the simulator there. There was a Mizuno JPX 800 6 iron just chillin on the wall, with the Simulator ready to go. So I picked it up, and hit about 25 balls with it. I was averaging between 180-191 with the 6 iron, and you need to add about 10 yards to that, especially at altitude where I am at here in Utah. I was leaving the next day to head south to St George and Mesquite to golf. So I asked the pro there what type of reviews these clubs had, since I had NEVER played Mizuno irons before in my life. He said they got the Gold Medal in Golf Digest's 2011 review. So I asked him if they had them in the steel S300 shafts, he said they did, and I bought them right there on the spot after only 25 or so hits with a 6 iron on a simulator. That weekend I shot an even 71 at Southgate, and also a 2 over 74 at Falcon Ridge from the blue tees. I cannot wait until the Spring to see if I can keep this up with these clubs, or if it was beginners luck. These clubs felt great. They are easier to fade than to draw the ball, but you can still work them either way, hit them low or high, and they stop on a dime, even though they have the new tour grooves that dont generate as much spin as my old Cleveland clubs with the deeper and larger zip grooves. Would reccomend these clubs to anyone with a handicap of 5-25. You will not be sorry. They are worth every penny. Thanks Mizuno for making such a great set of irons.Read full review
I always like Mizuno clubs, I find them one of the top irons. But like most will say it's not always the paint brush, it's the painter. The lowest rounds in the past five year I've had Mizuno's in my bag. And one Club Championship. I've been sort of a junkie on Ebay buying and selling different irons, but I really like the preformance of the JPX series, I don't play the pro models, it's the one below, they don't have a lot of off set like some clubs.

I bought these clubs because I have been playing Mizuno clubs for the past 16 years. My old set was the first brand new set I ever owned. . I had to change clubs because I no longer swing as hard as I did 16 years ago and realized that I needed to step back to a standard shaft. Anyway, I read a lot of reviews and looked at a several different clubs in pro shops and what not but, I kept coming back to the Mizuno because it is the club I already have. As far as reviews go, all the clubs had people that loved them or hated them, not to many in the middle. Having said all that, I love my new clubs. I haven't been able to play all that much being I bought the clubs in late November and live in the middle of Missouri, good golfing days are infrequent at best. I have to say I hit the ball higher than I have for some time and have picked up right at one club in distance. That alone makes the clubs well worth the purchase price. If there is a down side it is my fault. I bought steel shafts this time instead of the graphite ones and the clubs are quite a bit heaver than the old ones. Not a serious problem if you use a cart but, I prefer to walk most days. Yes, I would buy the clubs again however; I would spend the extra money to get the graphite shafts.Read full review
The best iron set that I have EVER played, and I have been playing golf for 27 years and worked in the golf equipment industry for more than 24 years. I bet I have owned and played close to 50 sets of irons in that time. These Mizunos are pretty darned forgiving, while still having low offset, a moderate topline, and only a slightly-oversized profile. The forged feel is teriffic, and they are easy on the hands, wrists, elbows and shoulders. If you can get a set with teh Project X graphite shafts, you'll REALLY appreciate these irons even more!
I purchased Mizuno JPX 800 6 through Gap irons with Project X 5.0 Graphite shafts. These are the best irons I have had since my old Ping Eye 2+ irons. These were also one of the highest-rated irons in Golf.com's 2011 Club Test: http://www.golf.com/golf/equipment/article/0,28136,2029099,00.html Additionally, they were also been given a Gold rating on Golf Digest's 2011 Hot List: http://hotlist.golfdigest.com/detail-exec/brand/2718/product_type/205/model/47816/b/Mizuno/p/Iron%20set/m/JPX-800 You won't go wrong if you buy these.
