Large open faced sterling silver antique Waltham pocket watch hallmarked for 1898

DIAL: In good, clean condition. Nice Roman numerals with a subsidiary seconds dial. Slight hairline under III o\'clock as seen in photos but enamel is otherwise excellent. The dial reads WATCH & CHRONOMETER MANUFACTURERS FATTORINI & SONS BRADFORD (this firmmade the first ever chess clock in 1883)

MOVEMENT: In good clean condition. Engraved Am Watch Co. Waltham Mass 8083827. I believe this makes it Model 1883 7 jewels, but unsure on this point.

CASE: nicely hallmarked on stem and inner case for Birmingham 1898. Maker\'s mark F & S for F. Fattorini & Son Ltd Kirkgate & Westgate, Bradford. Thick silver case is in excellent, clean, undented condition. Nicely engraved with empty cartouche surrounded by garter. Shuts tightly.

WEIGHT: The empty case weighs approx. 71 grams, but this includes an inset gilt metal band. True weight should be over 60g

DIMENSIONS: diameter approx. 55 mm. thickness: approx. 17 mm. length of stem: approx. 23 mm

Other Items of Note: watch will require hands and glass, and will likely require a clean as it runs for only a few minutes at a time. The pin holding the movement inside the case is missing, so the movement can lift out freely. A number 4 key fits the Waltham but is not included.
