original and very very rare late 18th century to early 19th century chinese export octagon shaped stationary fan ca 1795 to about 1810 , made in canton during the qing dynasty , lovely design of courtesans of the emperor , with a pagoda in the background ,hand painted on heavy paper , frame is paper mache and gold gilded , the handle is ornately carved and so are faces on the courtesans , the fan has some issues with splits but overall intact , one face is missing , carved handle is perfect , this is one of the rarest and earliest chinese export fans you will see on line , so rare should be in the peabody essex museum !!!! again some tears but overall in good shape for being about 220 years old , this is an extremely rare fan , and i believe a very valuable one , hope it goes to a good home or collection ,item sold as is thanks and good luck !!!! PS many people have offer on this item and have not paid , unless you are prepared to pay for the item , thank you !
