great piece! 16.75 inches high..the base looks to be added after the carving...I wish I knew more about the history....
everything in this collection has been packed away for decades....here goes nothing! A friend of mine passed away and her familasked me to help sell her west african Art collection. It is extensive 100\'s of pieces of you name it.....! This is what we know...she was in the Peace corp in Mali in the early 70\'s for 3 years....so everything is at least 40 years old if not older...we know she traveled to neighboring countires.....I will do my best to identify things but ANY HELP WILL BE MUCH WELCOMED! There are a great many thing I have no idea what they are!! There is a great many fabric and blankets, clothing, carved gourded, stautes, head dresses, mortar and pessel ......bags....I will just start...so keep looking over the next few weeks!
