The sale is for this antique Gorham standish with two cut glass inkwells with marked sterling hinged lids. The rectangular stand with raised backplate reticulated with diapered cartouche is set with a central lidded stamp box. At its widest point (from back foot to back foot) it is app 9 5/8\" wide and app 5\" deep and more than 3 1/4\" tall at its highest point. It weighs app 474 grams without the inkwells and has a total weight of 818 grams with them. It is in very good condition with these few exceptions: one inkwell has a largish chip on the bottom corner, it is missing one of the nuts on the bottom rear. It has a shallow dent of about 3/8\" in the center and a very tiny one inside the gallery at the very edge in the inside front. These are only viewed when examining closely from a top view and I couldn\'t get them to show in a picture. It has the bell mark which dates it to 1900. There is an sale record for one of these from 2005 where it sold for $1000 (before the big run up on silver).
