This is an extremely rare large antique 18thcentury hand carved polychromed British red coat military figure sculpture.it is carved with an abundance of very intricate realistic detailing and hand painted with a thick polychromed paint.it is complete original paint and is still very present and rich.the sculpture is extremely rare and a one of a kind, I have yet to even see one this nice in a museum or in books.He isdepicted in a head to toe military uniform and is equip with a rifle, sword, powder flask, and coat on his shoulder.it is carved from one solid piece of wood and he stands on a large rectangular base.it measures 17 1/2 inches tall by 6 inches wide.It is overall in nice condition but the hand holding the rifle has been repaired, refer to photos.extremely rare sculpture.
