This is a rare antique 19th century handmade articulated brass unisex belt.It is made from very thick brass, is an extremely heavy belt, and very well made.it is articulated from multiple rectangular shaped ornate bronze panels which are connected with detailed connecting rods. In the center of each panel areoval domed shape decorative plaques which each have different engraved scenes and symbols.they are all nicely riveted together by hand with brass rivets.also under eachbrass plaque are different colored pieces of leather exposed as trim.the buckle is very large, is also very ornate, and fastens to the holes in the other end of the belt.the belt has a wonderful patina from age and has a great antique look.it measures 36 inches long by 2 1/4 inches wide, very heavy….very highquality antique belt.
