up for sale is a well carved version of an indian idol \"Ganesha\". this piece wasacquired from an estate sale inArlington, Virginia. i believe it is carved out of ivory/bone but, was carved before 1900a.d. and brought to the united states before 1900a.d.this piece has very fine carving and detail, once again the subject of the piece is the indian idol \"Ganesha\" it depicts an elephant(head) man sitting with four arms. the carving is mounted on a wood base, common with many carvings like this originating from india. overall this piece sits in good condition and measuresabout3\" inches.
