A unique beautiful antique Persian set of a tray, 6 goblets, a pitcher and a coaster that are exquisitely engraved with the most ornate Iranian silver work. All of the set items are beautifully chased with the typical Shirazi designs that depicts Zoroastrian scenes, an ancient Iranian religion of the Achaemenid Empire(ca. 550-330 BC).The tray is hexagonal in shape with floral designs on the rim. The center of the tray has three circular shapes. The first two outer circles portrayAchaemenidsoldiers, while the third has floral and geometric patterns. The same soldier’s theme is illustrated on each of the six goblets. The goblets have a circular base with a twisted handle. The pitcher stands tall and has a very delicate and elegant handle. It is engraved withAchaemenid soldiers and two illustrations of Darius the great, the third King of theAchaemenidEmpire. The Pitcher stands on a round coaster with Achaemenid soldiers engravings as well. Each piece of the set including the 6 goblets, the coaster, the tray and the pitcher has three hallmarks. Although not very clear, they most likely representthe 84 Russian Imperial Silver Standard which corresponds to 875/1000 degree of silver purity, the silversmith maker in Farsi, and the city of Isfahan where this set originated.
