An active composition with a strong verticalcomposition, balanced by the many diagonal elements created by the snowcovered branches. This is a retirednegative, no longer printed. The photograph is hand signed ( initialed ) byAnsel Adams. The print was definitelyprinted under Adams\' supervision. Because there is no assistant\'s name orsignature on the back, there is also a chance the image was printed by Adamshimself. Backing Board reads \"SpecialEdition, Photographs of Yosemite by Ansel Adams, Forest Detail, Winter - Yosemite National Park, California\".
