offered is a fabulous high quality vintage 1936 german made kaschie silver cased automatic pocket petrol lighter. the AKO workshop made 900 silver kaschie features a modernistic checkerboard deco design on both sides with a dome shape top lever automatic mechanism. the luxury silver case pulls off the body to expose a gun metal finish snap-open mechanism. the hallmarks on the underside are a german silver mark - 900 - and AKO which is the jeweler or workshop that designed the case. this unusual top lever automatic snap open mechanism was invented by karl schieder of germany in 1936 and was quite successful. it was based on schieder\'s earlier 1933 side lever automatic. \"kaschie\" comes from a composite of \"karl and schieder\" names. kaschie is one of the most collectible vintage lighter brands in europe today and is featured in 22 pages of the broesan lighter book. kaschie manufactured numerous deco models that are now highly sought after. the silver kaschie measures about 2-1/8\" tall x 1-1/2\" wide and is in very good used condition. the silver case is in excellent condition with one tiny edge nick. there is a tiny white spot on front that will easily clean off. the mechanism shows use wear to the gun metal finish that is typical for this model. the mechanism lever moves freely but untested with flint or fuel. the mechanism should operate with proper service. overall - an important 1930\'s modernist silver kaschie pocket lighter for your collection. patent photo is not included in sale and digital copy can be emailed to winning buyer upon request. usa priority shipping includes insurance. **SHIP COST to italy-china-HK-southeast asia-Eastern europe-russia-philipines - via usps express mail only-$60. if you live in listed country - do not pay initial invoice - i will send correct invoice. please make sure to read my vintage lighter articles on the internet and in blaze lighter magazine. i combine shipping. **please view all the vintage lighters-ronsons- dunhills-and 20th century deco i offer on . please email questions-thanks.
