for sale, i have this exceptional signed Tiffany Studios bronze lamp base. Base is finished/patina\'d in agreat greenish brownpatina and signed on underside “Tiffany Studios New York”. the base in exceptional condition and without repair. the original patina very clean and without losses. the base has been recently rewired with proper period style cloth cord and it retains its GECO socket and turnkey switch. the base 16.25 inches talland the arms have a 12 inch spread iin between them. the shade that is pictured is just for demonstration purposes only and NOT included in this sale. this is also a telescoping base in which the owner can raise it or lower it depending on how they want it to look. just a great lamp base, inexcellent overall condition and with a greatlook. please remember you do not have to pay a 25-30% buyers premium on top of your purchase price like you would at an sale house. thats a pretty nice savings alone as well as not having to pay sales tax either for another 6-8% savings. thanks for looking and please check out my other tiffany and lighting sales. Im sorry to say but for years now I have looked the other way cost wise on shipping but I cant do it anymore. The shipping cost to the Midwest and far west is so much more than what I have to deal with here in the northeast. I have struggled with doing this as I didn?t want to lose my buyers/buyers west of me but it just adds up to too much money in the long run. Please understand I do this very reluctantly, as such, I am adding 20% to anything being shipped to zone two and 33% to anything being shipped to zone three. Example 75.00 regular shipping cost to zone one is just that 75.00. zone two would be 75.00 times 20% which equals 15.00 which is added to the 75.00 and becomes 90.00. zone three is 75.00 times 33% which is 25.00 which then becomes 100.00 for zone three. Bear in mind I am already very cheap in my packing and shipping costs and DO NOT CHARGE for labor, boxes, bubble, wrap, or peanuts and that we double box the shade and ship the base separately. Please notice the very positive response comments regarding our packaging. Sorry to do this and I hope you will stay on as fine and loyal customers.

Recently I have been putting different lighting on with reserves and s. I have been having far better success with my sales, than my buy it now or best offer items. As such, I am going to run some of my better lamps without reserves and hope ( pray actually ) the trend continues and I don?t get clobbered.

buyers please remember that I am selling antiques and that there should be a degree of expectation on your part in knowing that there will be normal aging and minor imperfections towards an item that is 75 to 100 years old. Chances are if there aren\'t any, it\'s a newer item and you shouldn\'t want it anyways. In other words, a minor blemish on some metalwork belonging to a large shade or a 1/16 by 1/16 of a paint flake missing, please try and be reasonable. I really don\'t want to do a refund because the finial ( typically a 10.00 piece ) isn\'t perfect on a 2,000.00 lamp. I always describe the important aspects towards condition reports and sometimes my eye misses what I deem immaterial issues such as the aforementioned sentence. It seems the more experienced an antique dealer or buyer is, the more understanding of condition they are. That being said, if you think you\'re going to be a difficult buyer because you want perfection in a 100 year old piece, please purchase another seller\'s product. has made it very difficult for sellers in the past few years yet I\'m a good seller who wants to be fair and all I ask for is a fair buyer to do business with. There are a few things in life we can?t do without. Food, water, fire, oxygen, the sun, shelter etc. So when it comes to shelter and necessary light for it, that?s where I come in. I believe in living simply and within my means but surrounded by items of great quality. I would rather own a great reverse painted lamp or Stickley bookcase than drive a foreign car that will only depreciate in value and cost me good money for repairs and maintenance. Or pay $40,000 in property taxes a year on a 7,000 square foot home that I only use 2500 sq. ft. of and the wasteful utilities that go along with that.
So why is it people go out and spend say $500.00 bucks on a pair of lamps that in ten years will be in a rummage sale with the hopes of getting $15.00 for the pair. Why not spend $1,000 on a lamp and have something meaningful, and when you tire of it ten years later, sell it, and get your money back in its entirety or even make a profit on top of the investment. Not to mention you got the same usage for that entire time period? This makes infinitely more financial sense than the other choice, plus you have a conversation piece in the room and something to be proud of. Also you have more cultural feeling invested in something 100 years old knowing that it can never be duplicated by modern making techniques and knowing there a few, if any, like it left for this world and now it?s yours. You own it. You display it and care for it. It becomes part of you so to speak versus a throw away item that was purchased at Raymour and Flanigan, Sears, Macy?s or Walmart.
So again that?s where I come in. lighting. Great period lighting when electricity was still in its infancy. When makers like Bradley and Hubbard, Handel, Tiffany studios, Pairpoint, and others cared about quality, appearance, and function. When makers were trying to outdo one another with this new business boom of electric lighting. When we went from whale and kerosene oil lamps and gas, to electric. This is when the best lamps in the world were manufactured and the ones I want to light my home with when its dark. I can?t control the sun or the amount of light it provides or when it comes up or goes down, and whether it?s cloudy or not, but I can control the light in my home when its dark. and like I said earlier, I want nice rugs, paintings, pottery, furniture, etc. and I want to see those items lit by great lighting. It?s what makes a home more outstanding and livable because without it you see absolutely nothing. A quality lamp makes or breaks a room. You can have the best rugs, furniture, paintings, and accessories in the world, but without great lamps or lighting nobody will ever see it. Buy quality and you will never regret it.
