vintage/antique Victorian petite mahogany upholstered velvet rocking chair/rocker Greater Chicagoland-area local pick up/delivery only (Saint Charles, IL -- Far west Chicago suburbs) align=left>UP FOR sale: A gorgeous, vintage, petite, Victorian-styled solid mahogany rocking chair, upholstered in an oxblood red-to-rust cotton velvet, with exposed nailhead trim.

It\'s maker\'s tag is remarkably well preserved, and the chair is described as \"#805 MAHOG. NANTUCKET ROCKER RED VELVET\" \"FROM HAROLD ELFERDINK, Authentic Victorian Reproductions, 10 WEALTHY ST., S.W., GRAND RAPIDS 3, MICHIGAN.\" The chair dates to 1938-1949 (theperiod Harold Elferdink was active in Grand Rapids), so the rocker is a vintage reproduction of a Victorian rocker.

While ithas a petite stature, it\'s entirely functional-- I\'m an average-size adult, and can sit in it comfortably and rock. It\'s absolutely charming.

CONDITION: Overall, it\'s in very, very nice original vintage condition. It\'s sturdy and solid. The only flaws I see to note are (1) a small amount of upholstery wear/loss of velvet pileon the top back edge (I think minor and not detractive), (2) there\'s a seam or split in the mahogany in the front center just below theupholstered seat (it\'s nearly perfectly centered - but I think it\'s a split - probably from age, temperature/humidity shifts (but again, not detractive -I had to look for it - you really can\'t see it in normal use), and (3) theexpected scuffs and nicks from normal use.
