i have for sale this super nice wilkinson leaded lamp. this is a seldom seen wilkinson and its in fantastic shape to boot. its also a very large lamp measuring in at a whopping 28 inches tall with the shade being 20 inches wide. the base with all four original hubbell sockets and acorn pulls and all in fine working order. the base recently rewired with proper period style cloth cord and the brass patina pretty clean throughout. not onto the shade, its in excellent condition with no loose segments of glass and the leading very tight and without any breaks or losses. there is one or two tight age cracks throughout but absolutely nothing to be concerned about. it might appear to the buyer that there are more than that, but that is only dirt in the striations of the glass as they do not go through the glass segment and are not breaks at all. again a very seldom seen lamp made by a fantastic maker. this is a period 1915-1925 lamp that has survivored about 100 years in this very nice condition and i am selling it without reserve to the highest buyer here on .thanks for looking and please check out my other offerings as i have some great lighting up for sale.

PleaseCheck out myother items! Some great Bradley Hubbard, Tiffany, Handel, etc. etc.

There are a few things in life we can’t do without. Food, water, fire, oxygen, the sun, shelter etc. So when it comes to shelter and necessary light for it, that’s where I come in. I believe in living simply and within my means butsurrounded by items of great quality. I would rather own a great reverse painted lamp or Stickley bookcase than drive a foreign car that will only depreciate in value and cost me good money for repairs and maintenance. Or pay $40,000 in property taxes a year on a 7,000 square foot home that I only use 2500 sq. ft.of and the wasteful utilities that go along with that.

So why is it people go out and spend say $500.00 bucks on a pair of lamps that in ten years will be in a rummage sale with the hopes of getting $15.00 for the pair. Why not spend $1,000 on a lamp and have something meaningful, and when you tire of it ten years later, sell it, and get your money back in its entirety or even make a profit on top of the investment. Not to mention you got the same usage for that entire time period? This makes infinitely more financial sense than the other choice, plus you have a conversation piece in the room and something to be proud of. Also you have more cultural feeling invested in something 100 years old knowing that it can never be duplicated by modern making techniques and knowing there a few, if any, like it left for this world and now it’s yours. You own it. You display it and care for it. It becomes part of you so to speak versus a throw away item that was purchased at Raymour and Flanigan, Sears, Macy’s or Walmart.

So again that’s where I come in. lighting. Great period lighting when electricity was still in its infancy. When makers like Bradley and Hubbard, Handel, Tiffany studios, Pairpoint, and others cared about quality, appearance, and function. When makers were trying to outdo one another with this new business boom of electriclighting. When we went from whale and kerosene oil lamps and gas,to electric. This is when the best lamps in the world were manufactured and the ones I want to light my home with when its dark. I can’t control the sun or the amount of light it provides or when it comes up or goes down, and whether it’s cloudy or not, but I can control the light in my home when its dark. and like I said earlier, I want nice rugs, paintings, pottery, furniture, etc. and I want to see those itemslit by great lighting. It’s what makes a home more outstanding and livable because without it you see absolutely nothing. A quality lamp makes or breaks a room. You can have the best rugs, furniture, paintings, and accessories in the world, but without great lamps or lighting nobody will ever see it. Buy quality and you will never regret it.
