A VERY RARE piece of history and a historical find. This is a 44-star American Flag, which was the official Flag of the United States from 1891 to 1896. This Flag represents the inclusion of Wyoming as the 44th state in the Union. It is around 35" X 22"

Wyoming was admitted to the Union on July 10, 1890. By law, a new star is added to the Flag on the July 4th following a state's admission.

The 44-star Flag became official on July 4, 1891, and was used until July 3, 1896, when it was replaced by the 45-star Flag after Utah was admitted to the Union.

Two presidents served under the 44-star Flag: Benjamin Harrison and Grover Cleveland.

This needs to go to a good home and preserved. It was an accidental find, and we know nothing about where this Flags history was. All I know is that it is a wonderful piece of history that is not found often.
